MOSCOW, August 6 Russian jazz star Pyotr Vostokov and his Big Jazz Orchestra will perform on August 14 at the Green Theater at VDNKh, the project's press service reported.
Vostokov and his orchestra will present the program «Masterpieces of World Jazz» at the Green Theater of VDNKh, dedicated to the «giants» of orchestral jazz of different eras and trends. The program includes famous hits from the sweet jazz of the 20s by Paul Whiteman to the rock of the late 60s by Buddy Rich, from entertaining dance swing to serious large-scale compositions — Duke Ellington's suites, from the classical mambo of Tito Puente and Perez Prado to jazz interpretations of the Beatles' music.
In addition, the artists will delight the audience with brilliant improvisation and musical surprises, without which no performance of the Big Jazz Orchestra headed by Vostokov is complete.
Petr Vostokov is one of the most talented musicians of the young generation who has rapidly risen to the musical Olympus. He graduated from the pop-jazz department of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, became a graduate of the American-Russian educational program Open World, within the framework of which he performed at the Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival in the USA.
