Former Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Samara Region Boyko Admits to Taking a Bribe

The former head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Samara Region, Major General Oleg Boyko, admitted his guilt in a bribery case. The second participant in the case is actively cooperating with the investigation, law enforcement agencies told RIA Novosti.
The general has been officially charged under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (accepting a bribe on an especially large scale). The case also involves the heads of commercial organizations, Yan Gushchin and Elena Tyutyunnik, who are charged with Part 5 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (giving a bribe). Earlier, it was reported that the bribe was given for protecting the interests of a commercial organization in the performance of work and provision of services in the field of fire safety.
According to available information, Boyko «admitted his guilt and gave detailed testimony.» In addition, businessman Gushchin is also cooperating with the investigation. He entered into a pre-trial cooperation agreement, which confirms his active assistance in solving and investigating the crime.
