MOSCOW, August 9 The Moskvich 3 urban crossover and the Moskvich 3e electric car will be equipped with domestically produced glass, the new supplier is the Bor Glass Factory, the message from the car manufacturer.
«The Moscow Automobile Plant Moskvich has begun cooperation with JSC Bor Glass Plant. One of the leading enterprises in the Russian glass industry will supply a full range of glass for the Moskvich 3 city crossover and the Moskvich 3e electric vehicle. The first glass will arrive on the Moskvich plant conveyor at the end of this year,» the statement said. 
Moskvich also recalled that at the moment, emergency call devices connected to the ERA-GLONASS system and process fluids are localized in the brand’s cars; in addition, the processes of welding, anti-corrosion treatment, painting and assembly are localized. Also, together with the Moscow government, it is planned to localize the traction battery for electric vehicles.
«Localization of auto components is a rather complex process. It is important to find reliable, high-quality suppliers at a reasonable price. Therefore, we work on this task very clearly and consistently, carefully selecting local suppliers. This year, we plan to localize several components at once — a 12V battery, tires, wheel rims and glass. Next year, we plan to localize telematics, soft seat elements and other components,» the press service added.
The Moskvich car plant is located on the site of the former Renault Russia plant, which the French auto concern Renault, which ceased operations in the Russian Federation, transferred to the Moscow government in May 2022 (Kamaz currently also owns 50%). At the moment, there are three models in the line — the Moskvich 3 urban crossover, the Moskvich 3e electric car and the Moskvich 6 sedan.
