LUGANSK, August 10 In a month, military personnel from the Center group of forces developed and tested a tracked drone for delivering cargo and evacuating the wounded in the SVO zone, the Russian Defense Ministry told journalists.
«»Servicemen of the repair unit of the Center group of forces conducted the first «frontline tests» of a new unmanned tracked platform for delivering ammunition and food in the SVO zone,» the defense department reported.

It is noted that this platform was developed by military specialists from the repair unit. The cargo drone is a platform with two tracks and an internal combustion engine from a regular moped, and has a load capacity of up to 500 kilograms. Such a tracked platform on a remote control will save the lives of military personnel who, under enemy fire, transport ammunition and property to assault groups and strongholds of the Russian Armed Forces, allowing them to carry out combat missions remotely from cover. Also, if necessary, the drone can be used to evacuate wounded military personnel.

«It took us a month to develop it, maybe a little more. It was our first development, that's why we spent so much time. It can reach speeds of up to 20 kilometers per hour, which is enough to quickly transport cargo, so that it would be safer for the soldiers. This device can also be used at civilian enterprises,» said the platoon commander with the call sign «Iskra».
The Ministry of Defense added that during the first tests the drone showed itself to be good, high cross-country ability and optimal speed of movement over rough terrain allow it to be used in combat conditions. The first tests revealed some shortcomings and weaknesses of the device, they will be corrected by specialists in order to send the platform to the front line as soon as possible.
«We set the task to develop it — it worked. Here is the result on the face. I am satisfied with the development, but if we improve it, it will be even better. There are plans for improvements, but it turned out pretty good, our efforts were not in vain,» the squad commander with the call sign «Koptel» shared his plans for modernization.
The Defense Ministry notes that the in-house developments of the repair units are highly valued by the soldiers on the front lines.
