ANKARA, August 10 Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received the sons of the slain head of the Palestinian Hamas politburo Ismail Haniyeh in Istanbul on Saturday, the Star newspaper reported.
«President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received Abdussalam and Hemmam Haniyeh, the sons of the slain Hamas politburo chairman Ismail Haniyeh,» the newspaper writes.
The Palestinian Hamas movement reported on July 31 that the head of the movement's politburo Ismail Haniyeh was killed in an Israeli strike on his residence in Tehran, where he had arrived to attend the inauguration of the new president of Iran. The Israelis have not commented on the allegations of involvement in Haniyeh's death. On Tuesday, the Hamas leadership officially announced the appointment of Yahya Sinwar as head of the Politburo in place of the slain Haniyeh.
