MOSCOW, August 12 Russia has successfully destroyed another Abrams tank in the Pokrovsky direction, writes Military Watch Magazine.
«The footage <…> confirms a successful strike on the Ukrainian army's M1A1 Abrams main battle tank in the Pokrovsk direction, which, despite significant counter-drone measures <…> was neutralized after one direct UAV hit,» the article says.
It is noted that Ukraine has lost more than a third of the 31 Abrams tanks supplied by the United States, with the first loss confirmed three days after the vehicles were first used in combat.
«Most of the recorded losses were caused by drone strikes or the use of precision-guided artillery, both of which are capable of penetrating the vulnerable upper and rear armor of the vehicle,» the author of the article adds.
Earlier on Monday, the Defense Ministry reported that units of the Center group of forces had improved their tactical position and repelled two attacks, with the Ukrainian Armed Forces losing more than 390 servicemen, an Abrams tank, and two Bradley infantry fighting vehicles in one day.
