MOSCOW, August 17 PAOK, which includes Russian footballers Fedor Chalov and Magomed Ozdoev, began defending their Greek championship title with a home win over Panserraikos.
The first round match, which took place on Saturday in Thessaloniki at the Toumba stadium, ended with a score of 3:2 in favor of the hosts. Ozdoev scored a goal in the third minute of stoppage time in the first half, and Stefan Schwab also scored twice for the winners (35th and 60th minutes), both times from the penalty spot.
Chalov entered the match for the first time in the starting lineup of PAOK and played 71 minutes, after which he was replaced by Tarik Tissaudali. Ozdoyev, who entered the starting lineup, was also replaced in the same minute.
