MOSCOW, August 17 The Ukrainian Armed Forces have sent reserves formed with Western support to the Kursk region, The Wall Street Journal reports.
“To prevent the front line from weakening, a significant portion of the units were taken from the reserve forces that Ukraine formed with Western support for operations planned for this year and next,” the article says.
Journalists also noted that, according to Western military estimates, Ukrainian forces have deployed more than ten thousand servicemen in the operation in the Kursk region.
The day before, the Ministry of Defense reported that during the fighting, Russian units, repelling attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to invade Russian territory in the Kursk region, destroyed up to 2860 troops, 41 tanks, 40 armored personnel carriers, 23 infantry fighting vehicles, 213 armored combat vehicles and 22 guns.
