Poland, together with Slovenia and the Czech Republic, has prepared a plan that includes 10 points to support Ukraine and end the war, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to TSN.
About this Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki said in an interview with Politico.
«There is a battle going on in Kyiv — not only for the future of Ukraine, but also for the future of the entire continent. And if Kyiv falls, it will be the end of Europe, which we know», Morawiecki said.
He stressed that a month had passed when Russia launched a full-scale war in Ukraine. Since then, the West has imposed four rounds of sanctions against Russia, but the war continues. They are clearly not enough. Much more needs to be done, and fast.
«To those who warn that a provocation by Russian President Vladimir Putin will lead to World War III, I ask: Does Putin ever need an excuse to violate international law? Was he needed to attack Georgia? Was he needed to occupy the Crimea? Was he needed to attack Kyiv?», he noted.
In addition to the early termination of payments for oil, gas and coal, Poland, Slovenia and the Czech Republic prepared 10-point plan to support Ukraine and end the war:
- disconnect all Russian banks from the SWIFT international payment system. Otherwise, the Russian economy will adapt to new conditions within a few weeks;
- introduce a general policy of asylum for Russian soldiers refusing to serve the criminal regime in Moscow;
- completely stop Russian propaganda in Europe. Freedom of speech does not mean the right to lie;
- blockade of Russian ships from European ports;
- the same blockade should be introduced for road transport to and from Russia;
- imposing sanctions not only against oligarchs, but also against the entire Russian business environment;
- stopping validity of visas for all Russian citizens wishing to enter the EU. The Russian people must understand that they will bear the consequences of this war;
- impose sanctions against all members of Putin's party «United Russia». They know perfectly well what is happening in Ukraine, and their complicity is unconditional;
- a complete ban on the export to Russia of technologies that can be used for war;
- Russia's exclusion from all international organizations. We cannot sit at the same table with criminals.
Mateusz Morawiecki also said that Kiev was offered a peacekeeping mission under the auspices of NATO and other international organizations.
« If we cannot impose effective sanctions, we have no choice: we must protect the people of Ukraine with our shields», he added.
