The President of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), Aleksander Ceferin, in connection with the interest of the Russian Football Union (RFU) in hosting the European Championships 2028 and 2032, said that any federation can apply to organize the tournament. UEFA confirmed receipt of the RFU's statement of interest in hosting the 2028 and 2032 European Championships on 23 March. The elections of the host countries of the European Championships will take place in September 2023. «The situation is changing day by day, hour by hour. Anyone can apply. We are talking about it. You will receive an answer soon,» Čeferin said after a meeting of the UEFA executive committee on Thursday.
