File photoWASHINGTON, May 5 The U.S. Embassy in Havana announced that it has resumed processing of immigrant visa applications for Cuban citizens after a long hiatus and expects to expand consular services in the future.»We are pleased that our limited reopening processing (applications) for immigrant visas in Havana got off to a good start. We hope to be able to process even more immigrant visas in the future and continue to expand the provision of consular services in Havana,» the Embassy said in a statement. The US Embassy has resumed processing applications for this type of visa for Cubans after a break of several years. During this period, citizens of the island nation who wished to immigrate were forced to personally apply for submission of documents to the American missions in Colombia and Guyana.
