According to the report, the Avalanche acquired Georgiev from the Rangers in exchange for a choice in the third and fifth rounds of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, as well as a fifth-round selection in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. Georgiev is 26 years old, he represented the Voskresenskiy Khimik in Russia, and since 2017 he has played in the Rangers system.
