MOSCOW, Oct 10 Head of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe stated that she does not care about the words of Swedish athletes about the boycott of the World Cup. Earlier, Lynn Swan, Maya Dahlqvist and Frida Karlsson spoke out against the possible admission of Russians to the competition. If the sanctions were lifted, they threatened to boycott the World Cup. “Don’t care, let them boycott. Competitions will lose entertainment without Russian skiers. And nothing will change without Swedes,” Vyalba told Sport24. At the end of February, the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions due to events in Ukraine. The decision was permanent. For the time being, it remains in force and should be considered by the FIS Council on 22 October. FIS Secretary General Michel Vion said that the organization is considering the possibility of allowing Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate under a neutral flag.
