ROME, Nov 28 Representatives of the ruling majority parties — Brothers Italy», «League» and «Forward, Italy» are working on a draft joint parliamentary resolution providing for the continuation of comprehensive, including military assistance to Ukraine in 2023, it became known from sources in the Italian parliament.
The resolution should be presented in Tuesday in the Chamber of Deputies, where this question, which causes serious discussions in the Apennines, will be discussed.
Earlier, opposition forces — the 5 Star Movement, the association of the centrist parties «Action» and «Living Italy», as well as the alliance of the left and the «greens» sent three separate resolutions on this issue to the lower house.
At the same time, the parliamentarians of the «Brothers of Italy» and the «League» presented in the Senate of the Republic an amendment to the decree discussed there on a number of issues not related to Ukraine, which provides for the continuation of arms supplies to Kyiv next year.
According to the Tgcom24 news channel on Monday evening, the text of the decree is proposed to be amended with the following addition: «The permission to transfer military equipment, materials and equipment in favor of the government authorities of Ukraine has been extended until December 31.» forces that accused the government parties of trying to push through parliament without proper discussion the decision to continue supplying weapons to Kyiv.
«This is a government of cunning. Among other measures, they insert into the text of the decree a one-year extension of arms supplies to Ukraine. This is a full-fledged slap in the face of parliament,» said the leader of the Italian Left party, Nicola Fratoianni.
Earlier, Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto announced his readiness to make to the national parliament a proposal to continue the supply of weapons to Kyiv throughout 2023.
