«A 37-year-old resident of the village of Magdagachi, who previously had problems with the law, will again be prosecuted. The man is accused of intentionally causing moderate bodily harm. The accused committed the criminal act against a woman with whom he had previously had a romantic relationship «, the message says.
According to the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, the crime occurred in the regional center on June 10, 2022. A month earlier, the accused broke up with his partner. Attempts to reconcile with her were unsuccessful. Then the man, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication, out of jealousy, guarded the woman in the entrance of the house and splashed her in the face with a solution of acetic acid, which he had prepared specifically for this purpose, the department said.
It is noted that as a result, the citizen received chemical burns to her eyes, face and neck. The victim received first aid at a local hospital, after which she also received treatment at clinics in the regional center.
The department clarifies that the man was detained in hot pursuit. He admitted his guilt in his deed and repented, and later actively contributed to the disclosure and investigation of the crime. Currently, the accused is under house arrest and proper behavior.
The criminal case has been sent to court for consideration on the merits. The maximum sentence that can be imposed on a man is five years in prison.
