Putin urged to reduce the gaps in the incomes of Crimeans and residents of other regions

MOSCOW, March 17 Russian President Vladimir Putin urged the leadership of Crimea and the government of the Russian Federation to strive to close the gap in the incomes of Crimeans and residents of other regions of the country.
«You so casually, but touched on the most important issue — the need to reduce gaps in the incomes of Crimeans, Sevastopol residents and those people who live in other territories of the Russian Federation, including those attached to Crimea and Sevastopol. There is a gap, and this painful for Crimeans and Sevastopol residents,» Putin said at a meeting on the socio-economic development of Crimea and Sevastopol, in response to Russian Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov.

The President explained this by a large flow of tourists who come to Crimea for recreation and «spend there heartily», as a result of which prices in the region rise.

«Demand and supply — they are, as you know, very closely related to each other, and people who live there permanently, they are not on vacation, they don't spend money like that, so, of course, this the task is not one day, everything is clear, but we must constantly think about it and strive to eliminate these gaps,» Putin said.
According to him, there are many ways to achieve results here: open logistics centers, expand the possibilities of transport, and so on.
