Newspaper.uz, citing its sources, reports that the epicenter was located in Afghanistan.
«An earthquake was felt in Tashkent at 21:48 on Tuesday. At 21:49, the tremors were repeated,» the report says.
Eyewitnesses report that visitors to shopping centers and residents of the Uzbek capital began to run out into the street.
The distance from the epicenter of the earthquake to the capital Uzbekistan was 561 km.
Telegram channel Sputnik Kazakhstan reports that the shocks were felt in Taraz and Shymkent.
The magnitude at the epicenter was 6.6, and on the territory of Uzbekistan in various areas from 4 to 6.
