MOSCOW, 22 Apr. A large-scale project about Russian comics is being launched at the Zaryadye Media Center. It includes an exposition, a festival and a creative laboratory, the press service of the project reports.
«Exhibition Comic Mission. The evolution of cartoon stories in Russia» is a real time machine, from popular prints and illustrations by Ivan Bilibin to neuroart,» explains Ivan Demidov, director of Zaryadye Park.
In his opinion, the genre has limitless potential. «This is an up-to-date language, capacious and rich, and the comic way of thinking of authors and readers corresponds to the rapidly changing world like never before,» Demidov notes.
ComMission Festival will be held on April 22-23. The first day is called «Monday starts on Saturday». The program includes presentations, master classes and summing up the results of the competition «Who am I?». The culmination is the awarding ceremony of the winners of the festival in nine nominations.
The second day of the review was called «Moscow-Betelgeuse-2083». It is dedicated to how the authors imagine the future. At the end there will be a performance.
“Artists and musicians will improvise and draw pictures and compose stories on given topics,” the press service clarifies.
As part of the Faneron special project, guests will learn how to create comics. Visitors will also be able to chat with experts to discuss artificial intelligence, the content crisis, scenarios for the development of pop music and burnout in creative work.
