KRASNODAR, 25 Apr. Krasnodar Territory may start exporting to Uzbekistan products of IT companies and agricultural products, as well as alcoholic beverages, medical and tourism services within the framework of development of interregional cooperation, said Deputy Governor of the region Alexander Ruppel.
Ruppel, during a meeting with the Russian trade representative in Uzbekistan Konstantin Zlygostev at the Innoprom: Central Asia exhibition in Tashkent, said that the trade turnover between the Kuban and the republic had almost doubled in 2022.
«Kuban can also export medical and tourism services, products of IT companies, as well as agricultural products and alcoholic products,» the press service of the regional administration reports Ruppel's words.
According to him, the Krasnodar Territory intends to organize business missions both on its territory and to Uzbekistan, and develop further cooperation with the Andijan region and beyond. For example, economic ties with the Fergana region of the republic are promising, an oil refinery is located on its territory, the industry of the Kuban can offer oil and gas equipment. The Tashkent and Samarkand regions have developed machine building and instrument making, the chemical industry and the production of building materials, which is also of interest for cooperation in the industrial sector.
«The development of interregional cooperation today is one of the most priority areas of interaction between Russia and Uzbekistan… Russian products are trusted by Uzbek market participants and, according to their estimates, have a balanced price-quality ratio», — said Zlygostev.
In 2022, the main exports to Uzbekistan were oil, fat of animal or vegetable origin, fuel. Textiles, vegetables, fruits and nuts were imported. At the same time, the share of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the total export volume of the Krasnodar Territory remains low and «opens room for further growth,» the press service added.
