
MOSCOW, 26 Apr. The Historical Museum has opened a large-scale exhibition «Eugene Khaldei. The Epoch in Frames». This was announced in her Telegram channel by Olga Lyubimova and the press service of ROSIZO.
“The photographs of Yevgeny Khaldei became a symbol of the Great Victory. He was the only Soviet photographer who filmed the Great Patriotic War for all 1418 days,” the Minister of Culture clarifies.

But he also has works of a peaceful period. Guests of the project will see them.
“The uniqueness of the exhibition lies in the fact that never before have so many works by Yevgeny Khaldei been gathered at one site. We wanted to tell about the personality of the master, about one of the largest figures in our photography, about the artist, to show all parts of his work,” says Olga Galaktionova, General Director of ROSIZO.

In total, there are 400 works by the master on display. Featured are famous shots and previously unseen footage. There are negatives from Khaldei's family archive, items that belonged to him, a personal diary, and documents classified as «secret». Some of the exhibits are accompanied by authentic historical audio recordings, such as a transcript of the Nuremberg trials.
«Yevgeny Khaldei lived a long professional life. He created for us, descendants, for the whole world the image of our country. His staff is distinguished by love for the Motherland, for people and a desire to show his era from the best side,» says exhibition curator Dina Ivashchenko.
