The exhibition «They have stars under their heels!» has opened in Moscow! about astronauts

MOSCOW, 16 Jun. The exposition «They have stars under their heels!» dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the first woman's flight into space has opened in Moscow. Tatyana Kalugina, curator and head of the Department of Scientific and Exhibition Activities of the Museum of Cosmonautics, spoke about the most interesting exhibits.
«

«Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova is still the only woman in the world who has made a solo flight into space,» she recalled.

Tereshkova went into orbit on the Vostok-6 spacecraft. By today's standards, the flight was short — two days 22 hours and 50 minutes. It took place simultaneously with the Vostok-5 flight piloted by Valery Bykovsky. They completed the program of exploitation of single-seat ships «Vostok».
«

"The name of Valentina Vladimirovna was known on all continents, in all countries. Then it seemed that now women, on a par with men, would begin to fly into space and work there. But life makes its own adjustments. And today everything is completely different. In 60 years, only six Soviet, Russian women have been able to look at the earth from space orbit,” Kalugina said.

The aim of the exhibition is to remind them.

Among the most curious exhibits is a flower. It was provided by Anna Kikina, who returned from space on March 12, 2023.

“During her flight, March 8 was celebrated. And our Russian cosmonauts, who were on board the ISS, Sergey Prokopiev and Dmitry Petelin, made from metal wire clamps that are used for extravehicular activities, according to a flower — to her and Nicole, who was on board at the same time Mann,” explained the curator. -width=»600″ data-crop-height=»338″ data-source-sid=»» title=»Exhibition They have stars under their heels!» class=»» />

There will also be a knitted toy in the form of a jackdaw at the exhibition. Actress Yulia Peresild took her on a flight with her. The product of the craftswoman Natalya Mamaeva served as an indicator of weightlessness.
