MOSCOW, July 13 To cancel Russian in Kiev means to cancel Kiev, said Elena Yampolskaya, head of the State Duma Committee on Culture, commenting on the news about the fact that Kiev banned the inclusion of songs in Russian in public places.
The Kiev City Council has banned the inclusion and performance of songs in Russian in public places, the city administration announced on Thursday.
«Kyiv is a historically Russian city. It has never been and will not be different. To fight the Russian in Kiev means to fight Kiev itself. To cancel the Russian in Kiev means to cancel Kiev,» Yampolskaya said.
