It is noted that the perimeter of the transaction includes 118 stores with a total trading area of 92,000 square meters, including leased facilities. In addition, two distribution centers in the Kaliningrad region with a total area of 14.2 thousand square meters will become the property of X5.
At the same time, it is noted that the current management of Victoria Baltia will continue to manage the company. «The Kaliningrad region is an important and promising region for the development of the X5 Group, which at the same time has its own specifics. One of the distinguishing features is a limited number of locations for opening stores. The acquisition of the Victoria and Deshevo stores will allow us to strengthen our position in the Kaliningrad region, as well as improve the logistics of our stores in the region,» X5 Chief Executive Officer Igor Shekhterman is quoted in the message.
X5 Group is one of the largest Russian retailers. As of June 30, the company operated 22,682 stores. The structure includes Pyaterochka, Krasny Yar, Slata stores, Perekrestok supermarkets, as well as Chizhik discounters.
