
CAIRO, Aug 5 Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and his Emirati counterpart Mohammed bin Zeid Al Nahyan held a meeting to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in the areas of economy and development, the office of the Egyptian leader said.
The meeting between the two presidents took place on Saturday in the Egyptian city of El Alamein. For the head of the UAE, this is the second visit to Egypt this year.
«Discussions were held on ways to continue work to strengthen the framework and mechanisms of joint cooperation between the two countries, including in the areas of economy and development,» al-Sisi's office said.
It is noted that the Presidents of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates also discussed the latest developments in the world and the region. According to the statement of the office, the views of the leaders of the two countries coincided on the importance of intensifying the joint actions of the Arab countries to deal with challenges in the region and the world.
«The Presidents emphasized the desire to continue close coordination at all levels against the backdrop of strong historical ties linking the two countries,» the office added.
