SIMFEROPOL, August 5 The volume of passenger traffic by trains in the Crimean direction by this moment in 2023 amounted to 1.9 million people, which is 600 thousand (about 50 %) more than last year for the same period, said the speaker of the Crimean parliament Vladimir Konstantinov.
«This is a life-affirming industry, without exaggeration. Today, 11,000 Crimeans work in this industry… There are figures — they are very optimistic: I will not talk about cargo traffic, last year 1.3 million passengers were transported by this period , now 1.9 million. Passenger traffic has grown significantly,» Konstantinov said on the air of the Crimea 24 TV channel.
He noted that the Crimean Railway has also significantly increased the volume of freight traffic. The speaker congratulated the railway workers on their professional holiday.
