SIMFEROPOL, September 20 Two long-range British Storm Shadow missiles were intercepted on Wednesday over the Kherson region, reported the acting governor of the region Vladimir Saldo in his Telegram channel.
“Today, two long-range Western-made Storm Shadow missiles launched by militants of the Kiev regime were neutralized over the Kherson region. One was shot down by air defense, the control of the other was intercepted by electronic warfare, after which it fell to the ground,” Saldo wrote in his Telegram channel. 
According to him, no one was hurt.
“Significant material damage was prevented; the missiles were eliminated over the field,” Saldo emphasized.
According to him, it is precisely these missiles that Kyiv cynically calls “peaceful,” but they are made safe for Russians by Russian military personnel armed with high-tech weapons and equipped with advanced radio-electronic equipment.
“I thank our soldiers for their excellent combat work,” emphasized Saldo.
The Kherson region became a subject of the Russian Federation following the results of a referendum held in September 2022. At the same time, the Ukrainian side does not recognize its legitimacy and continues to shell the territory of the region. Today, 75% of the territory of the Kherson region is under Russian control, and the part on the right bank of the Dnieper, including Kherson, remains under Ukraine.
