MOSCOW, October 9 A leak occurred from the radiator at the International Space Station, the press service of Roscosmos reported.

"On the module "Science" Russian segment of the ISS, there was a coolant leak from the external (backup) radiator circuit, which was delivered to the station in 2012, and installed during the Russian cosmonauts’ spacewalk,” says the publication on the Telegram channel.
It is clarified that the main thermal control circuit operates normally and provides comfortable conditions in the living area of the module. Roscosmos also noted that there are no threats to the crew and the station. The main operational group of the department for analyzing the current situation continues its work.
Nauka was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome on July 21, 2021, and on July 29 it moored to the Zvezda module of the Russian segment of the ISS. The crew opened the hatch to the module on July 30.
«Science» is an almost complete copy of the first module of the ISS — «Zarya». It began to be built in 1995 as a ground backup. In 2004, it was decided to expand the Russian segment: in order to save money, they decided to convert the “understudy” into a full-fledged flight module. Its launch was scheduled for 2007, but production was not completed on time. For many years, the launch was postponed.
In 2013, when Nauka was almost ready to be sent to the cosmodrome, foreign particles were found during a check of the fuel system. This threatened big problems — in case of a blockage, the engines could stall, and the segment itself would become uncontrollable in low-Earth orbit. In addition, there was a chance of the ISS propulsion system being damaged. As a result, the module was returned for revision.
In 2020, Nauka was sent to Baikonur, where it passed all pre-launch tests.
