RYAZAN, October 20 Governor of the Ryazan region Pavel Malkov called the region’s agro-industrial complex very modern and technologically advanced, and the industry as a whole strategically important.
According to the press service of the regional government, on Friday Malkov took part in a ceremonial meeting dedicated to the celebration of the Day of Agricultural and Processing Industry Workers. He presented awards to the best agricultural workers and participants of the Golden Autumn 2023 exhibition.
“The agro-industrial complex is a strategic area for the Ryazan region. Today the region has a very modern and technologically advanced agro-industrial complex. A large number of new investment projects are being implemented, the equipment fleet is being updated, new technologies and methods are being introduced,” the governor’s words are quoted in the message.
He emphasized that over 23 thousand people work in the region’s agro-industrial complex. This year, industry workers are showing good results. A record oilseed harvest is forecast, and the grain harvest is expected to be one of the three largest in the history of the region, despite difficulties and unfavorable weather conditions. Serious growth in milk and meat, chicken eggs, food and processing industries.
The head of the region named the further introduction of unused lands into agricultural circulation, the development of storage and processing infrastructure, and the comprehensive development of rural areas as his work priorities. According to Malkov, the region as a whole receives very significant amounts of government support: this year it is more than 3.5 billion rubles from the federal and regional budgets.
«The most important thing is the work of farmers; their professionalism is the key to the success of the industry. Much is being done not only for the development of agriculture itself, but also the village. With the support of local agricultural enterprises, housing is being built for people. Comfort is being created in schools and kindergartens , children receive the best nutrition. Streets in populated areas are being transformed,» the governor noted.
