MOSCOW, Oct 22 The American SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 launch vehicle with 23 Starlink satellites and successfully placed them into orbit, the company reports on X's official social media account.
The launch reportedly took place on Sunday morning.
«The launch of 23 Starlink satellites into orbit has been confirmed,» the report said.
Starlink is a satellite network designed to provide broadband Internet access anywhere on the planet. The project has been implemented by SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk, since 2018. Currently, there are about 4.2 thousand Starlink satellites in orbit.
As Cybernews.com previously reported with reference to the satellite tracking portal, satellitemap.space, SpaceX lost 212 satellites between July 18 and September 18. As the publication notes, over the past three years the number of burned satellites has been increasing, with a significant jump observed since July. It is unclear whether the deorbit of these satellites was planned or caused by a failure.
