The security forces came to a Muslim prayer house in Kotelniki near Moscow, took the parishioners to the military registration and enlistment office and, under the threat of criminal charges, forced them to sign contracts. According to the artist, on October 20, after Friday prayers, riot police officers “under the pretext of checking documents” detained him and other Muslims and sent them to the military registration and enlistment office of the city of Lyubertsy. After the medical examination, the men were taken to the recruitment point for contract soldiers in Balashikha, and from there to the regional assembly point in the city of Zheleznodorozhny.
There, as the singer said, some of the detainees “put on their uniforms” and were already preparing to be sent to the unit. Useinov himself refused to do this and said in his Instagram story that he was “expecting a case with the Investigative Committee.” In his last story, published on the afternoon of October 22, the artist wrote that “there are no changes.”
“We are sitting waiting for something unknown. No one is saying what will happen to us next,” he said.
The Friday raid on parishioners of the house of worship in Kotelniki was reported by the telegram channel “MOBILIZATION I News”. According to its authors, security forces “caught migrants to send to war.” At the military registration and enlistment office, lawyers were not allowed to see the men.
