ROSTOV-ON-DON, January 4 The regional election headquarters of Russian presidential candidate Vladimir Putin in the Rostov region collected more than 25 thousand signatures in his support instead of the planned 7.5 thousand, head of staff of the headquarters Vasily Rudoy told reporters.
“Today we are sending only the first batch of signature sheets… We needed to collect 7.5 thousand signatures, in fact… more than 25 thousand people cast their votes on signature sheets,” Rudoy said. He called these early results «quite impressive.» According to the head of the Rostov headquarters, the work does not end there, and the number of collected signatures will be significantly greater.
“I am confident that we will continue this work, we will do it efficiently, and all of us, thanks to the enormous support that Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has in the Rostov region… are confident in his unconditional victory,” Rudoy added.
As a representative of the regional election headquarters of Russian presidential candidate Vladimir Putin in the Rostov region said, the collected signatures are now sent to the central election headquarters. “Once again they undergo an examination, lawyers work and then at the end of this procedure, when the collection of signatures throughout the country is completed, the signature sheets … will be transferred by the central election headquarters to the central election commission to make a decision on registering a presidential candidate,” the source explained agencies.
The regional election headquarters of Russian presidential candidate Vladimir Putin in the Rostov region began its work on December 22.
