The Ministry of Internal Affairs has put on the wanted list the former vice-president of Gazprombank Igor Volobuev, who left for Ukraine to join the Kyiv territorial defense. Information about this appeared in the department’s search database, Mediazona drew attention.
It is unknown under which article of the Criminal Code Volobuev is wanted. In October 2023, the Ministry of Justice declared him a “foreign agent.”
Volobuev wrote on his Facebook at the end of December that he had been serving in the International Legion of Ukraine for almost a year. It also includes the Russian Volunteer Corps and the Freedom of Russia Legion.

In the spring of 2022, after leaving for Kiev, Volobuev told the Telegraph about “ «without a trace» disappearance of all money from their accounts in Gazprombank. He called it “payback for desertion” and said that “he would rather sleep on the street than leave Ukraine.”
Volobuev was an employee of Gazprom for 16 years, then worked for another six years at Gazprombank. After moving to Ukraine, he was fired. The man was born in Akhtyrka, Sumy region. According to him, after the annexation of Crimea in 2014, he “gave himself a word” that he would go to fight if “Russian tanks came” to his hometown.
