YEREVAN, February 1 Armenia must understand with whom can he really build military-technical and defense relations, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Thursday.
«We need to understand with whom we can really have relations of a military-technical and defense nature. Previously, this was a simple task, because there was no such question and there was no difficulty in creating a concept. Previously, 95%-97% of our relations in the defense sector were in the Russian Federation, now this cannot be for both objective and subjective reasons,” Pashinyan said in response to a question about the prospects for developing a concept for reforming the Armed Forces.
According to him, Armenia will have to understand what kind of relations it will have with India within the framework of this concept, what kind of security relations Iran, Georgia, and the United States will or will not have. «Will our security relations with Russia change or not, how will they change? Do we remain a member of the CSTO or not? What kind of relationship are we building with France? The problem here is that the concept itself has already been declared as a declaration, and we need to formulate such a concept around the implementation of which we have at least agreements.” — said Pashinyan.
He believes that work on this document can be completed within this year.
