RYAZAN, February 22 The prosecutor's office and the Investigative Committee began inspections after a video of a teacher beating a schoolchild in the city of Vladimir; the teacher was fired.
The video appeared in the group “Overheard Vladimir (PV)”. The footage shows the man punching the boy several times. The caption to the video states that at school No. 33, a teacher beat a seventh-grader during class. The reasons for the incident are not explained.
“The prosecutor’s office of the city of Vladimir organized verification activities based on information distributed on social networks about the beating of a student by a teacher at school No. 33 of the regional center,” the regional prosecutor’s office reported in its Telegram channel. During the verification activities, the prosecutor's office will assess the circumstances of the incident, including the actions of the management of the educational institution.
The regional investigative department of the RF IC also reported on the inspection. “Currently, an investigator and a criminologist from the regional department of the Investigative Committee are working in an educational institution, the scene of the incident is being inspected, students, school management and other persons are being interviewed, and other verification activities are being carried out aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident,” the SUSC notes in its Telegram channel .
The administration of Vladimir informed that the city’s department of education and youth policy conducted an internal inspection of the teacher recorded on video, as a result of which “a decision was made to apply a disciplinary sanction in the form of dismissal.”
