DONETSK, March 12 Two pumping and filtering stations, as well as more than 90 transformer substations were de-energized in Gorlovka in the DPR on Tuesday due to Ukrainian shelling, the mayor of this city, Ivan Prikhodko, said on Tuesday.
«Today at 11.00, as a result of an explosive object hitting a transformer from an unmanned aerial vehicle of the Ukrainian armed forces, the following were de-energized: the Reservnaya pumping station, filtering station No. 2, and the pumping station near the canal,» Prikhodko wrote in the Telegram channel.
He noted that as a result of shelling from the armed forces of Ukraine, 91 transformer substations were also de-energized.
“Without electricity, the Stroitel residential area, the administration district, the village of the mine named after N. A. Izotov (partially), the village of Michurina,” the mayor specified.
Gorlovka is located 50 kilometers north of Donetsk, the city is home to the Stirol chemical concern and coal mining enterprises. This is one of the largest populated areas of the DPR; before the start of the conflict in Donbass, the population of Gorlovka numbered more than 250 thousand people.
