MOSCOW, April 6The American IT giant Intel sold its office building in Nizhny Novgorod on Turgenev Street, 30 to the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation, a representative of the regional government press service said.
According to him, in the future the building will be used “in strategic cooperation with Sber and business partners to host several IT industry projects.”
“One of the first projects planned to be located in the building will be a free school of digital technologies “School 21” for everyone over 18 years old who wants to get a sought-after IT profession. Education at the school is based on the “peer to peer” methodology — there are no mentors here , lectures and assessments. Participants improve their “soft” skills and learn to work in a team,” said the press service employee.
In turn, a source in the real estate market close to the deal said that we are talking about a business center with an area of 10.7 thousand square meters “with high-quality finishing and furniture, accommodating up to 850 jobs and a land plot of 1.3 hectares, located in the upper part of the city, near the metro station under construction.»
He noted that the market value of such an object ranges from 950 million rubles to 1.1 billion rubles. However, given the origins of Intel, the deal could have gone through at a discount, as is the case with most deals with foreigners, the owner of the agency added.
In April 2022, Intel announced that it was suspending all business operations in Russia due to the situation in Ukraine. In early March, the company announced that it was suspending product deliveries to its customers in Russia and Belarus.
