MOSCOW, May 1.From January to April, the total wealth of the richest Russian entrepreneurs increased by $14.895 billion; the largest increase was made by the former beneficiary of Eurochem and SUEK Andrei Melnichenko, calculated based on data from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI).
The richest among Russians remains one of the main owners of Norilsk Nickel, Vladimir Potanin. His fortune has increased by $255 million since the beginning of the year, to $31.3 billion.
The second and third places were shared by the co-owner of the Lukoil company Vagit Alekperov and the beneficiary of the NLMK company Vladimir Lisin. Both now have $27.4 billion, with Alekperov getting richer by 2.78 billion and Lisin by 3.47.
The fourth place was taken by the co-owner of Novatek Leonid Mikhelson. His fortune decreased by 1.57 billion and now stands at $25.9 billion. Fifth place was retained by the main beneficiary of Severstal, Alexey Mordashov, with 25.1 billion (plus 4.22 billion).
Melnichenko, who in March 2022, due to sanctions, withdrew from the co-owners of Eurochem and SUEK, became richer than anyone else — by $5.34 billion. With a capital of 24.2 billion, it ranks sixth in the ranking for the third month in a row.
Alisher Usmanov (Metalloinvest, Megafon) is still in seventh place. Since the beginning of the year, his fortune has declined the most on this list — by 2.18 billion, to $18.9 billion. Mikhail Prokhorov (Onexim group) remains eighth: his fortune increased by 917 million, to 16.7 billion dollars.
Ninth, just like a month ago, was the founder of the Alfa Group company, Mikhail Fridman, whose fortune increased by 991 million, to 13.3 billion dollars. Closing the top ten is the co-owner of Novatek and Sibur, Gennady Timchenko, who lost 1.95 billion — now he has 12.2 billion dollars.
The BBI index is calculated based on the value of shares of companies in which billionaires own shares. In total, the list of the 500 richest people in the world includes 26 Russians. Today they own $348.72 billion.
