MOSCOW, May 11. Head of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and communal services Irek Faizullin retained his post in the new government proposed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
The State Duma at an extraordinary plenary meeting on Friday approved Mishustin as prime minister, 375 deputies voted for his candidacy. On the evening of the same day, the President of the Russian Federation signed a decree on his appointment.
According to the law, the new head of the Cabinet, no later than a week after his appointment, submits to the president proposals on the structure of federal executive bodies. Within 14 days, the Prime Minister submits to the State Duma for approval the candidacies of deputy prime ministers and federal ministers — except for the heads of the security bloc and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for whom a special procedure applies. The lower house of parliament, no later than a week later, makes a decision on the candidates presented by the head of government — the persons approved by it are appointed to the position by the President of the Russian Federation. The heads of the Ministry of Defense, FSB, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are appointed to the position after consultations with the Federation Council by the President himself.
