Sunak: the world is now closer to nuclear escalation than ever

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, during a speech at the Policy Exchange think tank, accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of the fact that due to his «reckless behavior» the world has come to » «Dangerous nuclear escalation is closer than at any time since the Cuban Missile Crisis.»
According to Sunak, the UK now faces a growing number of threats due to the activities of an “axis of authoritarian states”, among which he named Russia, Iran, North Korea and China. He noted that these countries are seeking to undermine British values.
Sunak also cited attacks on British ships in the Red Sea and alleged Chinese cyberattacks on members of the UK Parliament.
Previously, a spokesman Russian President Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the decision to conduct exercises in Russia on the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons, explained: “Statements from France, Great Britain and the United States require special attention and special measures.”
