Deputy of the Pskov Regional Assembly of Deputies Armen Mnatsakanyan made an ambiguous statement about citizens criticizing the work of officials. At a session of the regional parliament, he, among other things, spoke about Western sanctions and ideological enemies, noting that “we live in difficult times.”
The deputy further referred to the alleged statements of Governor Mikhail Vedernikov and Vladimir Putin and stated , that “only by deeds can we prove and, I apologize for the word, kill those who do not want to see or love us.”
“Enemies are sitting in our region and are looking for a reason to attack: they haven’t removed them there, It’s not like that here…” — the parliamentarian complained.
A little later, in a conversation with the “Pskov News Feed” Mnatsakanyan said that he was “completely” misunderstood. and that the word "kill" he "used as a figure of speech". In fact, the deputy meant “to kill with business, to burden those who don’t love us.”
