MOSCOW, June 9 Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Indian Minister Narendra Modi constructively discussed the topic of Ukraine during a meeting in a limited format, said the press secretary of the Russian head of state Dmitry Peskov.
“Constructively,” he said in response to a corresponding question from journalists.
He noted that Narendra Modi does not pretend to mediate efforts for a settlement in Ukraine.
«Modi does not pretend to mediate efforts. Everyone is discussing peace. Everyone is for peace. And we, too, are for peace with security ensured for us. And that’s why everyone exchanges opinions, of course,” he told reporters when asked how the Russian Federation evaluates Modi’s mediation efforts in the Ukrainian settlement.
“He (Modi — ed.) said that new fresh ideas were born after the exchange of views on Ukraine.” , Peskov added.
