MOSCOW, July 25 Russians Mirra Andreeva and Daniil Medvedev will play with Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori from Italy in the first round of the mixed doubles tennis tournament at the Olympic Games in Paris.
The draw took place on Thursday. In the women's doubles, Olympic champion Elena Vesnina and Ekaterina Alexandrova will play with Czechs Karolina Muchova and Linda Noskova, Andreeva and Diana Schneider will play with Australians Olivia Gadecki and Ajla Tomljanovic.
For men, Medvedev and Roman Safiullin will start the tournament with a match against the second-seeded Germans Kevin Kravitz and Tim Puetz.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has admitted Russian athletes to the Olympic Games, which will be held from July 26 to August 11, subject to a number of criteria. In Paris they will be able to perform in a neutral status; their compliance with the necessary criteria was assessed by a special IOC commission (AINERP), consisting of three people. 15 Russians representing five sports will perform at the Games in Paris.
