MOSCOW, July 27 There is no discussion of possible mobilization in Russia, said presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
«Nobody is talking about mobilization at all, there is no talk,» he said when asked by the agency whether there are enough volunteers or whether mobilization might be necessary.
Partial mobilization was carried out in Russia in the fall of 2022. Then, more than 300 thousand people were called up for military service. After that, the Russian authorities have repeatedly stated that there is no need for a new wave of mobilization. In particular, President Vladimir Putin spoke about the absence of such plans when speaking at the plenary session of the SPIEF. Defense Minister Andrei Belousov also noted that the Armed Forces need planned recruitment, but there is no talk of emergency measures such as mobilization.
In early July, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev reported that the average daily rate of recruitment of contract soldiers into the joint group of troops remains stable — about a thousand people per day. According to him, about 190 thousand people have signed contracts with the Defense Ministry in six months.
