TOKYO Jan 4 A 6.3 earthquake struck on Tuesday morning off the Japanese islands of Ogasawara in the Pacific Ocean, more than 1 thousand kilometers south of Tokyo. According to the Main Meteorological Agency of Japan, tremors were recorded at 06.09 local time (00.09 Moscow time). The source of the earthquake lay at a depth of 70 kilometers under water, there is no threat of a tsunami. There were no reports of injuries or damage during the earthquake. The Ogasawara Islands are located about 1.2 thousand kilometers south of Tokyo. Experts do not exclude repeated tremors in the region during the week.
