MOSCOW, Jan 27 Stanislav Cherchesov, the former coach of the Russian national football team, said that the team play of Ferencváros, which he took over in December, needs to be improved. On Thursday, Ferencváros lost away to Puskas Academy in the postponed match of the fourth round of the Hungarian Championship with a score of 0:1, playing in the minority from the 24th minute. This meeting was the first official one for the Russian specialist as head coach of the team. «It was our first match after the winter break, we didn’t imagine it that way. We entered the game very poorly. I had to shout in the locker room during the break, which is not very good for me naturally, but I wanted to get the guys to get together. It worked, but, unfortunately, it didn’t work out to even the score, «Cherchesov said. «The lesson learned from this match for me is that I need to improve not only my English, but also team game,» the coach added. Cherchesov was appointed head coach of Ferencváros on December 20, 2021. From 2016 to 2021, the specialist headed the Russian national team and led the team to the quarterfinals at the 2018 home world championship. Cherchesov in 2016 led Legia Warsaw to victory in the championship and the Polish Cup.
