“At the moment, from a legal point of view, the situation is generally clear, the wife of S.V. Yangulbaev Zarema Musaeva was taken to Grozny as a witness in a criminal case in in accordance with the norms of the Code of Criminal Procedure,” Fadeev believes.
He noted that now Musaeva is in the special detention center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Chechnya, where she is serving an administrative arrest for 15 days. Earlier, Chechen Press Minister Akhmed Dudayev said that Musaeva was arrested because, after she was taken to Grozny, she allegedly «attacked a police officer and almost took his eye.» According to Fadeev, in the special detention center «in accordance with the law, the prosecutor, lawyer and members of the public monitoring commission of the Chechen Republic can visit her.»
The head of the HRC also said that the members of the Council are closely monitoring the development of the situation, «collecting and analyzing the incoming information.» “We believe that the situation will continue to develop in the legal field and after the end of the punishment imposed by the court, Zarema Musaeva will be free,” Fadeev added.
