MOSCOW, Jan 29 Dynamo Moscow striker Vadim Shipachyov will be captain of the national team Russia in hockey at the Winter Olympics in Beijing, according to the website of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation. Nikita Nesterov, Sergei Andronov (both CSKA) and Yegor Yakovlev (Metallurg, Magnitogorsk) will become assistant captains. Shipachev is 34 years old. He is the top scorer of the current season of the Continental Hockey League (KHL). He has 67 points for performance (24 goals + 43 assists). Shipachev — Olympic champion of the Games in Pyeongchang, world champion in 2014. He also has silver and two bronze medals in the world championships. The Beijing Olympics will be held from 4 to 20 February. The Russian national team, the current Olympic champion, will play in a group with the Czechs, Swiss and Danes.
