The oldest player of the championship of Russia was left without a club

MOSCOW, June 27 Moscow region football club «Khimki» announced on the official website on the termination of the contract with defender Yuri Zhirkov by agreement of the parties. Earlier, Roman Teryushkov, a member of the club's supervisory board, said that the club had decided not to renew contact with Zhirkov. The 38-year-old defender joined Khimki in the winter transfer window and played three games for the club. Khimki finished 13th in the last Russian championship. In the play-offs for the right to play in the Russian Premier League in the 2022/23 season, the Moscow Region club defeated SKA-Khabarovsk (0:1, 3:0) and retained its residence permit in the top division. Zhirkov was the oldest player in the championship last season .
