MOSCOW, Oct 31 cooperation with Brazil, including interaction in the UN, BRICS, G20, will continue, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.
«We note his contribution to the development of friendship relations between our countries. Brazilian cooperation in the UN, BRICS, the G20 and other multilateral platforms will continue. We are ready for this,» the ministry said in a statement following the results of the presidential elections in Brazil, which were won by Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
The ministry also noted that Russia considers Brazil as a strong candidate for a permanent member of the UN Security Council.
«We highly appreciate the role of Brazil in international affairs, its consistent efforts to strengthen constructive principles and form demo ratic, polycentric world order. We consider the country as a strong candidate for a seat as a permanent member of the UN Security Council,» the document says.
