New Russian Ambassador to Iran presented copies of his credentials to the country's foreign minister

MOSCOW, 1 Nov. New Russian Ambassador to Tehran Alexei Dedov presented copies of his credentials to Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic Hossein Amir Abdollahian on Tuesday.
In most countries of the world, the presentation of credentials means de jure mutual recognition of the two governments and, accordingly, the activities of the new head embassies.

“Russian Ambassador to Iran Alexei Dedov presented copies of his credentials to the Iranian Foreign Minister,” the Russian embassy in Tehran said.

The diplomatic mission noted that the parties expressed mutual further expansion of Russian-Iranian relations.
Aleksey Dedov has been in the diplomatic service since 1982. He, who speaks Urdu and English, was Minister Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Iran in 2004-2009. From 2013 to 2019, he was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Pakistan.
